98 Ford Truck Transmission - Backup light removal

I'm not sure of the tranny model, but the truck has a 4.2L with a 5speed manual tranny. I'm replacing the clutch and need to remove what I think is the backup light connection. It's a copper looking connection on the driver's side of the tranny and has me stumped on how it comes out.

The new pilot bearing from the dealership has the connection for this (inside the bellhousing), but I cannot figure out how to get the cable disconnected on the outside of the tranny.

Help!
