97 F150 from wheel gets very hot, truck shakes

Not 4WD. At first I thought truck only shook when I went to brake, but now it seems to also do it in wet weather when accelerating too. But it's an old truck, maybe it's actually 2 different problems? The front left wheel gets very hot compared to others. I've got an on-going gasket leak that I have to add anti-freeze not because it leaks but it blows out thru seals when driving a lot. I also have very small transmission leak. 2 months ago I found my power steering fluid cap left off by mistake but I had that checked during a tire change and garage here says fluid and level are fine. Don't know if any of this is enough for a rough diagnosis, I'm not too mechanical with newer passenger vehicles. Wish I was....

Also appreciate any insight on how to read a 'crooked' garage over a good one, as we're still fairly new to this town and it seems, alas, I have a habit of getting myself ripped off lately. (trying to rectify that...)

Can't believe July 23 and still no answer to this. Perhaps call txgeasemonkey or Captain Rich on pay per call for expert advice? The best and brightest here all watching Olympics! 97 truck probably Blue book value less than what it would cost to repair all this, maybe time to trade it. Call AAA or BBB to check out a garage you might find in the yellowpages
