94 Nissan Pathfinder cuts off when in idle?

I have a 94 Nissan Pathfinder that cuts off when in idle. As long as I apply gas it will stay running but if I don't give it any gas it cuts off. I have taken it to 3 mechanic and all have gave me costly repairs that need to be done but I think it might be something small because it was a sudden thing. Anyone with any suggestions please let me know. I have already checked the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor button.
