Be sure to check out the excellent post that our Auto Expert wrote up:

It's stuck to the top of this board.

Hi ive already looked at that post very informative . but the car does start when you have three leads in obviously very poorly but will start which rules out igniters or coil as there is power going through and there are no ecu codes present either i have new leads also and new plugs it only wont start when they are all connected Could the distributer cap cause this ..

You may have your spark plug wires connected wrong. Did you take off ALL wires, then went to connect them ALL back again, or did you do one by one? It's very easy to mess up the order if you take them off all at the same time.

Search online for "honda fire order" or something like that...you should find a picture. If you don't, I can make you one in about 10 hours.

Here it is...it's from a '90 Civic, but i think it should be the same for all Honda engines.
