93 honda accord died while driving

My 93 honda accord died while I was driving. I shifted down to turn a corner and as I accelerated into third gear it died, The battery would crank continues but would not turn over. I towed the car home and the next morning it started just fine. this happened a couple months ago and then last Friday on the way to work as I was accelerating into third gear it did the same thing. At noon I went and checked the car and it started right up.
I drove the car to a mechanic and he did a diagnostic test and could not find a problem.
the car has ran great except for the two times mentioned. What could be the problem?

check to see if battery cables are nice and tight on the terminals,if the battery tie downs are snug, and if your battery is the kind that needs water check the water level. Distilled water only. Or see how old your battery is if you could be due for a new one. Losing power suddenly on cornering could be caused by any of this. Check all your belts to see if any could be slipping. If it happens when you are shifting could be in the transmission

In this order:

. Replace main relay, located under the dash and to the left of the steering column (hidden by silver cruise control box, which needs to be removed).

. Test/replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil:

AutoZone and O'Reilly Auto Parts can test the ICM for free. Because of the age of the vehicle, I would replace all of these problematic components.

I just registered in order to ask the exact same question. I have the same car (auto tran). In addition to the problem described here, my car also had couple of no-starts during hot weather last summer. I had plugs, wire, distributer cap and fuel filter replaced, but no help. I heard there is recall on the ignition switch. Could it be another cause? I will follow txgreasemonkey's suggestions. Thanks!

jxc313, I don't believe your problem involves the ignition switch. Your situation also sounds like the main relay is bad. Still, I would go ahead and replace the ICM and coil to re-establish reliability and performance.
