Grinding Gears in 1992 Honda Accord

When I start my 1992 Honda Accord, the brake light comes on, when I shift into reverse I hear a grinding noise. I can shift into drive and the noise stops. I hear the noise again when I shift into park. I cut off the car and start it again and the noise has stopped and the brake light is off. This has happened to me twice. What is it? Thank you
