1975 Toyota Colora resistor overheating

1975 Toyota Colora resistor overheating

1975 Toyota Corola Station Wagon

Externally mounted balast resistor on ignition coil is overheating (over 200 degrees). Can't find any shorts. Everything else seems to check out okay. Any ideas?
