1991 Ford Taurus Wireing

[color=Black][font=Times New Roman]
I have a 1991 Taurus Engin cooling fan that I want to use on a emergency power generator. The fan was removed from a wreck and the wire bunlde cut on the engine side of the plug, There are 3 wires from the fan motor thru the plug . If I put 12 VDC to the Blue(+) and the black(-) wire the fan on the engine side of the plug, it will run but will not self start, I have to nudge the fan blade. How can I wire this fan to be self starting when 12 volts is applied. I tried lookin at a another one but NO HELP.
