| | | 89 Dodge Dakota i have a dodge dakota when i turn the key nothing happens not one thing all fuses r good please help i ckecked all of the fuses under the hood and in the cab i died while driving it down the road | | | | | | |

| 1. Is the battery fully charged?
2. Are you sure you checked all under-hood and under-dash fuses? Check with a test light or multimeter, so you don't put them back in the wrong slot.
3. Did the truck die while driving or does it just refuse to crank? |

2. Does the engine crank at all? |

| Good. There are two main electrical flows. One is to the starter and the other is to the ignition switch.
First, I would try and get your truck to crank. I would check for a blown fusible link and then check for power at the starter solenoid. Make sure all connections are clean. Second, I would make sure the ignition switch is good. Third, I would check for power going from the ignition switch to the under-hood fuse/relay box.
Since nothing works, I suspect the problem could be with the ignition switch. |
