my daughter has a honda accord it wont crank it shows it is in park and d4 the d4 light flashes and car wont start. we have no idea what is wrong sometimes if you disable the battery for several hrs and hook it back up it will start any ideas?

Hi you need to take to a good shop and get the gearbox inhibiter switch switch checked out its a switch which wont allow the car to be started in gear its probably come adrift in the housing and works once in a while its not uncommen in your type of vehicle.hope this helps.

ok here is another one now it cranks but d-4 flashes and when you put it in d-4 or d-3 then press the gas the motor reves up and after a few seconds the car will move but struggles. it does fine in r,1,2 gears.
