| 88 civic shuddering under load first off, thanks to this forum for solving (hopefully / time will tell) one of my problems with the main relay.
my car: 1988 honda civic dx 4dr 1.5 litre, 275000 kms.
my other problem:
my car shudders while under loading. it first happened in february. i brought it to my mechanic. he replaced the spark plug and distributor cap and fuel filter. it got worse. brought it back, he figured he had the wrong cap. was fine for a while, then got really bad again. used fuel system cleaner, and replaced spark plugs again (mechanic put in too hot of plugs).
an aquaintance suggested the throttle cable was too tight. i loosened it off about 4 notches and that was too much. put it back a couple, that seemed to help. put the car away for the summer, started driving again the other day. today it started to shudder when passing on the highway (120+ km/h) and would continue well after the pass, then settle down eventually. on occasion it will also shudder on steady speed. i played with the throttle free play again, went notch by notch trying the car each time i adjusted. got better, better, better then worse again. so i put it back to the "best" position. still shudders though.
after doing my main relay the diagnostics don't show any errors anymore.
can someone help me?
sorry for the long story, thought it would help to have all the info. |
