86 F250 Dies after warmup under load?

I found a diesel f250 on craigslist the other day and am very interested in it to tow some stuff but this is what the ad says

"1986 ford truck 6.9 d1986 ford f250 2x4 super cab diesel manual trans, minor engine probs will die after warmup under load "

I tried searching the help desk but couldn't find anything specific to my case, is this something easily fixable say in a few hours of work or would it be a more involved?
