2006 colorado overheating

My truck started to overheat when it was in the 80's. Now that it is in the 100's anytime I stop at a light the temp. gauge starts going up. Today it was 1/4 0f the way from overheating. I have check the fluid and it is good. The oil was changed a few weeks age and my tires were rotated. Every time I have taken a vehicle to the dealer the problem is not coveredand then they charge me $100+. This maybe a stupid question(after all I am a female), Could it be a fuse?

A simple fuse? Not likely.
More likely is the thermostat.

Are you still covered under your base warranty?

But, perhaps more importantly, what was the $100+ charge for?
Did they diagnose something and found that it wasn't covered by your warranty?

I may have more questions to ask you about this.....

Yes, it could be a fuse, especially if it goes to the thermostatically controlled cooling fan. Cooling fans failing to operate properly is a major cause of engine overheating. Check all fuses in the under-hood fuse box. Here's how:
