This is common problem on 7.3L Fords. Don't worry TxGreasemonkey, I got this one. I had the same problem on a recent truck. Your problem is in the high pressure oil system. What is happening is that your injector pressure is going down once oil temp sensor calls to regulate it.The oil pressur is what helps fire your injectors. Could be one of two things. 1. Injector pressure regulator(located on high pressure pump which is under your fuel filter, drivers side) or 2. Your high pressure pump. Cheapest bet is regulator but could be both. Not a hard job if you have common sense. Very important to TORQUE drive gear bolt. Let me know which one it was because it is one of the two.

Truck always will start in morning then I would drive 15-30 minutes, shut off engine....try to restart engine and it will turn over rapidly but will not start. This is an occasional situation with starting, maybe like several times a week.

Had the same problem, two fuel filters inside the fuel tank were totally blocked with garbage,
dropped the tank cleaned the filters. No more problem.
