My diesel truck is giving me fits. When I start it up there is no problem, but after it runs for awhile, it starts to vibrate (you can feel it in the steering wheel) it acts like it is going to die, runs badly like water in the gas, then you get a fuel smell in the cab. If you give it a little more gas, it will stop the shuttering, run normal for a bit, then it starts all over again. It is getting fuel from the fuel pump okay but I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I have taken it to my mechanic, he hooked it up to his dynastic machine, but nothing major shows up. Any one out there have this problem?

6.0L engines on this PSD are known to have EGR-related problems. I'd recommend taking it to Ford for diagnosis and repair.

I had the same problem, it turned out to be the injector pressure switch. Located on top of motor under turbo cover, fixed it right up.
