2002 Buick LeSabre cruise control switch will not stay in on position

When I press the cruise control on switch the indicator light goes on but the cruise control will not stay on when the switch pressure is released. While driving, if the on switch is held down the cruise control works as it should. How do you get the switch out of the steering wheel to replace it? |

I have a 96 Buick LeSabre. It set up for four weeks and now it won't start. I charged the battery and cleaned the side post terminals twice. I get no power to the dome light or any other instrumentation. It also has two cables going to the positive terminal.
