2000 Chevy Tahoe power window intermittent
Drivers side power window is intermittent: If the car is parked so that the sun hits the door, the window will not work when the door gets hot (and takes several days to start working again). Also, it sometimes will not work after a rain (again, it take several days to start working again). I used to be able to make it work by hitting the inside door panel (I know, a real smart, brute force repair), but that brilliant technique no longer works.

I have tested the switches on the door panel and they are OK. Also, the harness to the motor checks out.

It sounds like a motor problem, but that doesn't match the symptoms since it appears that it always gets power. What else could it be? How difficult is it to replace the motor if that is the problem?

Intermittent is my favorite word! Yeah, right! ;)

These symptoms indicate the need for a window regulator motor. Typical symptoms regarding functioning cooler but not when hotter.
The motor contacts become open when hot: all the components expand, resulting in an open circuit.
    New regulator motor. Hands down.
