| 1999 Honda Shuttle engine stops Hi,
I have an 1999 Honda Shutlle 2.3 ES. Until this spring there were no problems.
Now sometimes the enige suddenly dies. No warning lights no stotter it just stops running. It has done this on the highway at 120 Km/h but also just a view moments after starting.
Most of the time it starts and run fine when you restart it. Only sometimes it won't start and then it "sound" like the anti theft blocking system prevends the engine from starting. It cranks, comes on and then dies again, after removing the key and starting it will run just fine.
No CEL comes on, in fact all indicator lights go out even the indicator from the automatic gearbox alle meters go to zero.
Sometimes only the anti theft "key"light blinks.
My own garage can't find the cause and they had the computer read by a Honda garage. There were no Errors logged. Honda garage suggested it could be the starter key with a faulty RFID chip. So I changed the keys but the problem remains.
I seems like the problem occurs when the interriour of the car warms up.
Sunny wheather but low temp (about 10C) outside and the problem will occur.
There seems to be no relation to a warm engine. The problem hasn't occure on cloudy weather. The Car has about 111000 Km and is well maintained.
Could this be a Main System Relay problem as seen in the Civic and Accord models? If indeed the Shuttle has such a relay? Can't find much info of this on the Shuttle on the net so any suggestions are welcome.
(pardon my Englich I'm Dutch)
