im having problems with my 1998 Honda Accord. lately during hot days it would have trouble starting and the shifter would not get out of the park position. the car would start fine one day and would have trouble starting the next. a few days ago the car would turn over but would die down within like 2 seconds. i can hear the buzzing from the fuel pump when i turn the key and i can hear the click from the main relay. the alternator and battery check good. i found that if i press on the gas and turn the key, the care stays on but as soon as i let go of the gas pedal the car dies down. does anyone know what the problem could be? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In this order:

. Check/replace main relay, located left of the steering wheel.

. Test/replace Ignition Control Module and coil:

If problem persists, perform K-Test on ECM.
