1996 CRX won't start-please help!

Hi there!

i bought a 96 CRX 1.6Esi four days ago, went to start it today and nothing happened! it just made some clicking noises! i had a look at some of the questions people have asked in the past and i think it sounds quite similar! i did the three questions and the CEL light comes on and goes off after two seconds, i can hear a click when that happens and i think i hear the fuel pump too! My dad warned me not to get a CRX but i fell in love and now im gutted! i dont really know much about cars so il have to get my friend to look at it...any help you could give me would be amazing, oh, and is it going to be expensive?

cheers!

Thanks for answering the three questions. Based on those answers, I don't think you have anything major wrong with your Civic. Sounds like a standard starter problem, which shouldn't be too expensive to fix.

1. Remove your battery and fully charge it. Clean battery terminals and connections.

2. If the car doesn't crank after reinstalling the battery, the problem is likely with your starter solenoid (relay) or starter motor. If you hear a click, click, click, then the problem is with the starter solenoid.

Let me know the results.
