1998 nissan pathfinder

98 nissan pathfinder sputters, surges when warm rpm jumps, eventually shuts off & wont run. replaced egr valve, Catalytic Converters,gas filter.

Try the rotor and the cap next. Replacing the catalytic converter was expensive - wonder why you chose that part to replace? Sounds like something in the gas line system or the electrical system is not making the proper spark. Also your solenoid could be going as well. This is the type of problem with a solenoid that is going bad. Can be properly diagnosed when part fails. But in the meantime it keeps cutting out and won't let the engine restart. The more I think about it - it's the solenoid going.

Is your check/service engine light on? Have you had a diagnostic scan done?
