I am told i need a belt tensioner on my Asuna..... i see there are two differnet types available.. does anyone know which is the correct one ( part number etc)

Isn't that the sister-ship of a Geo Storm?
And there are two engine options that year. 1.6L SOHC or the 1.8L DOHC.

It is the 1.8 overhead cam engine

Timing Belt Tensioner is about $130
Drive Belt Tensioner is about $70
