1992 geo prism , won't hold oil

Hello
Yesterday my wife got the oil changed on her GEO Prism.
This morning as she went to work the engine sounded terrible and she pulled in at a gas station, It turns out there is no oil in the engine. She bought a couple of quarts but it just leaks back out.
Any info on why this is happening?
Thanks
Charlie

Sounds to me like the mechanic changing the oil didnt complete his job properly. Take it back to the garage that changed the oil.

DON'T RUN THE ENGINE UNTIL IT HOLDS OIL AND IS THOROUGHLY CHECKED!!
ADDITIONAL DAMAGE COULD RESULT!
Use a tow service to move the vehicle. And get the cause of the noise and oil loss documented.
The place where you had the oil change done may have left the drain plug loose or perhaps installed an incorrect oil filter.

Thanks Guys
I got the car towed back to my place and there in my parking space was the oil filter!

I went back to 'Taxaco express lube' on ponce de leon ave Atlanta and thankfully they acknowledged it was their fault , one of their men came to my place put the filter back on , put oil in and took it back to the shop.

The engine sounds ok but I think I will still take it to another place this evening anyway , who knows what else they screwed up.
At least they were quick and professional about my complaint if not about the oil change.
Thanks
Charlie

Very lucky if there is no other engine damage!
Glad to hear they responded quickly to your concern.

I've got my car back and all is well , they gave me a card for three free services.
So far this issue has cost me $68 for the tow truck and $25 for my wifes taxi to work.
The manager is calling me later today , what so you think I could get from them ?(I know I could just get my money but maybe I could get some work done).
The mechanic who is now working on the car is very good and promised that he would be the one doing the work.
Any suggestions?
C

If the car isn't critically wounded, you should be able to get those costs reimbursed.
I take it the mechanic now is not the same one as before? If you still trust them, you may ask for a coupon or discount on future services. Let's hope he's cooperative!
