| 1992 civic with a 1996 v-tec motor swap crank but wont start. I have a 1992 civic w/ 1996 v-tec motor, I have been working on this car for about 2 weeks. I have read alot on different forums about the different issues and tried them all. I am at a point now where no one that i have seen has the same issue so here i am. I was able to start the car last week, it ran for an hour i didnt have the fans hooked up do I cut it off to keep it from overheating. After it cooled off i was able to start it again, but no luck since. I replaced the main relay, the ecu, motor grounds, spark plugs, ignition, but i havent done the map sensor. Is this the problem? After i replace this maps how many more things will I have to replace to get the car running. I dont have a lot of time and money to keep tieing up in this project. I brought this car for a fuel saver and it seems to be a headache starter. Speaking of starter I bought a new one of those as well. I have used my dmm and everything checks out fine except I havent checked the map sensor. Another thing that puzzles me is the fact that when I check voltage to the distributor, I get 12 volts forom ignition, but I only get 8v or 7v to the rest of the terminals. Is this susposed to be this way? How can i fix this problem if it is not?
Thanks to anyone who offers help to this situation.
