1992 chevy 1500 truck

My truck was dying when I was idle. Then it just died while I was moving and refused to start. I have no spark it won't catch. I tried a new starter, but that did not help. So, ...? It's been suggested that it may be something to do with not getting any fuel. Please help.

Questions:

1. Is your battery good?

2. Have you checked all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter?

3. Have you checked for any codes?

4. Are you saying the starter motor does not crank, there's no spark, and the fuel pump doesn't run? Or, are you saying it's a "crank but won't start" problem?

5. What engine do you have and how many miles are on the truck?

If your battery, fuses, codes, and starter motor are OK, turn your key to ON and listen for the fuel pump to run. Next, if the fuel pump runs but the truck only cranks but won't start, test/replace the igniter, coil, and ECU (computer). Many auto part stores, such as O'Reilly and Autozone, will test igniters and coils for free. Remember, 90% of won't start situations are electrical, not fuel, related.
