1992 aceva

well a buddy of mine was driving it and the motor quit on him he got it home and one of his dads friends looked at it and said the timing was wrong. i bought the car and i was talkin to a guy i no he said that in those motors they have a oil senser that when the oil gets low it automaticly stops all spark to the motor. i never hurd of it. any clues?
