04 Dodge Ram - pull fuse to shut off odometer

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 and am trying to find out if the fuse is blown or pulled on the odometer/speedometer.......will the internal computer still keep track of the mileage.

I am concerned how many miles might be on the truck, since I have recently found out that the "friend" we bought it from may have unplugged the fuse for the speedometer/odometer and apparently this makes it so the odometer does not track the mileage driven while the fuse is either pulled out or blown. The speedometer apparently doesn't show how fast you are going either.

Before I take it into the dealership to ask them to hook it up and pay a sickening fee for checking the mileage, I want to find out if the computer would show anything for mileage, or what would happen if the fuse actually had been removed for a period of time.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Not sure on this. I know it could be done to Fords with stick transmissions, but do not know about the Dodge. I suggest looking in the mail/message forum of dodgeram.org. You should be able to find your answer there. Good luck & nice friend you have!
