Gov grants - any Grants

I have a new business for 6 months. I have been in this type of work for 11 years and have the same customers. I buy offshore produce and ship them to the states. I ship 40,000 - 200,000 pounds a week"or I did" I don't have the up front money to buy now. Does anyone know a good place to start with tring to get a grant.

Don't get side tracked with all the commercialism that is associated with grants: Start with the source www.grants.gov and if you have a good deal of time set aside, go down each topic top to bottom on the left side of the web site. There is a registration process you have to do even before the arduous process of applying for a grant. I am in the midst of a grant process myself currently assembling a research team and gathering their resumes. It takes patience but it's worth it.

yes and many places hire grant writters to write up the requests,

One of my good friends before he fell ill used to write grant requests for non profit medical research.

But again, don't over look business loans, which is often more correct for starting a for profit business. With a good business plan, a list of customers and the such finding venture partners or commercial loans should not be that much of an issue
