I read a book when I was in junior high which was between 2000 and 2001.

It was about a young girl who befriends a geeky boy who is new to the area. He is dorky with glasses etc. I believe this was in their freshman year or 8th grade year before going to highschool. He grows up over the summer gets contacts grows taller and is now very good looking. He ditches his friend and becomes a popular jock. Several years pass to their senior year and he has gotten bored with his life and the girls he has been with around him. He pursues his old friend they fall in love and make love towards the end of the book. I believe that the book is mostly from the girls perspective. She is poor and he is rich and his parents have a nice home.

I would really like to read it again but cannot remember and other specifics. Any help anyone could be would be great. Thanks.

I suggest you try posting this question in yahoo answers. There, you probably will get at least an info about the story you've read. Let me know if you have any replies or info about the book ok? I'd like to read it too. It sounds interesting.
