I read this book about 15 years ago and really liked it. I can't remember the name of the book or the author but have looked for it off and on. What I know about the book is:

The heroine's first name is Wynter, her mother was her father's mistress and died in childbirth. She didn't know that her father's wife wasn't her mother until her father died and confessed everything on his deathbed. Wynter was engaged to be married, but when her fiance found out that she wouldn't inherit anything he married Wynter's sister instead. Wynter married a servant and they left on a ship. She ended up on a Pirate's ship and had an accident and woke up thinking that she was married to the Pirate Captain.

I remember a lot about the book, just not the title, author or anything else that can help me find this book. Can anyone help?
