Here's a brain teaser, how much do you know about children's books

Does anyone remeber a childrens book, most likely with a girl protagonist, geared probably toward the 4th or 5th grade. I had this sudden memory of reading a book in which the main character chooses beans and wiennies for their birthday dinner and/or the father's special dish he makes when the mom is working late is beans and wiennies.

If this sounds familar to anyone or if any one has any insite to this please post.
