Asked Feb 21, 2010, 07:17 PM — 5 Answers
I am currently reading The Shack, it is life changing. Has anyone read it? What books have you read that have changed your outlook on life?

Oh cool, great idea J9 to start a thread.

I agree about The Shack, it is life changing and does defiantly get you to look at life completely different. As others and you have seen on my signature the book is amazing.

I hope to hear from others as well, of books that have changed their outlook on life and also about this book already mentioned.

Awesome thread J9.

I read The Shack, but it didn't change my life in any way. Books by Jeffrey Masson about the emotional lives of animals have had a huge impact on my thinking about my cats especially, but also about any animal and animal abuse.

Dogs never lie about love, The nine emotional lives of cats, and When elephants weep are my three favorites. Here is a link to his site showing his animal books:

The daily coyote by Shreve Stockton taught me that even coyotes can be beautiful and amazing creatures. This is especially good considering coyotes have moved into human habitats (or more likely, humans have encroached on coyote habitats). I check her Web site first thing every morning to see what Charlie is up to. The Daily Coyote

Wesley the owl is another favorite. A young woman scientist (she's related to Cubby O'Brien of the original Mousketeers) adopted a tiny owl which became her friend and companion for 19 years. Even when a boyfriend would break up with her, he was more devastated that he was losing Wesley from his life than he was in losing Stacey. http://www.wesleytheowl.com/
