New tattooer needs tips on colouring!

I recived a tattoo gun and supplies for christmas, and so far can only outline properly. When I try to color or shade my tattoo in however, the color always comes out spotty and uneven. I have only had one turn out right and havent had any luck since. It is not the gun, it is a shader, it is meant to fill in color, and I am sure that I have the correct adjustment settings-- I think it has somthing to do with the way I'm holding the gun. Any tips?

Unless you are an apprentice who has studied years under a professional, you shouldn't be tattooing anyone, not even yourself, With health risks like AIDS and H IV, the tattoo gun you have probably did not come with an autoclave, let alone instructions on even how to clean it. It is a health risk and it's not wise to perform things like tattoos on yourself or anyone else unless you're a professional and certified by the local health department.

seradee disagrees: Thank you for your overopinionated answer! It really helped me out. Now that You must assume I just picked up and went at it? Unless you can give me advice i can use Butt Out .
nauticalstar420 agrees: Wonderful advice. No one has the right to tattoo or pierce anyone without a license.

charlotte was spot on. You shouldnt tattoo people unless you know what you are doing. You can disagree and give me a reddie if you want, but please know this : we are not allowed, nor do we even want to, give out information when we dont know the circumstance, for example, if you are licensed, or at least an apprentice.

If you go out and tattoo someone and it comes out bad, or even worse, you hurt someone, I do not want it on my head that I handed you some information that aided in hurting that person. That is why charlotte said what she said. I hope you understand now.

charlotte234s agrees: No, she doesn't have the right to give reddies, your advice is sound and she is just belligerent.

How To Material

May I suggest you buying a couple of the refference books on the subject.

But again, if you do not know what you are doing, these can be dangerous, There are books on the medcial issues and problems also.

So, can you answer the question? Are you licensed or at least apprenticing?

Do not give negative ratings for answers that aren't completely offbase and incorrect, you need to put down the tattoo gun unless you are certified, hon.

ChihuahuaMomma agrees: I agree....And that reddie should be removed! I have had a few of those, but I decided to let bygones be bygones....
