re-piercing my belly button.

About a month and ten days ago I had my belly button pierced on a wimb by one of my friends, we bought a 14 gauge needs and pierced it ourselves. I was washing it more than once a day and everyone was really impressed by the results. It had been fine up until a few days ago when it started to get really sore, I figured we had pierced too much skin because some of the rings were too short, So i changed it and put in a longer one.
A few hours ago while i was in a class, my ball fell out. So it was basically just chilling in the hole and i was getting really nervous cause i didnt want it to close up, inevitably, it fell out and i went to push it back through and it hurt really bad. And later it just came out.
It has a significant amount of scar tissue and but i really want to get it done again.
Is it possible to get it in the same place? Because im more fond of the top piercings and I want the same one. But I've heard that some studios wont pierce scar tissue.
Also I've heard it will hurt less and from some places I've heard it will hurt more.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,
Sarah

Next time you think of piercing yourself, dont. Thats why people go spend money to get licensed for this stuff. They know what they are doing.

Each individual piercer has a different guideline on whether or not they will pierce through scar tissue. I personally have never been pierced by one that wont, but I know there are some out there that wont. The best thing you can do is call around and ask before you waste time and gas going place to place.

Before you go to get it re-pierced, it is best to wait 3 or so months to ensure that the pervious piercing is fully healed. The last thing you want to do is add another problem on top of an existing problem.

Also, I have been pierced through scar tissue from a previous piercing and it didnt feel any different than tissue thats not scarred.

k hun ur first mistake was piercing it your self. i know for a fact u put ut self in risk for hepititus and many other infectous diseases. i'm not sure that parlor's will pierce scar tissue. i have a scar on my belly button from a dog bite but it's not noticable and i already checked with a couple parlors and they say that the scar i have is not going to interfere with the piercing since it's not even in the place the needle would pass through. just be careful and get it done for ceral.
