    Possible infected belly button piercing
Hi! I had my belly button pierced Feb. 17 and have been cleaning like I'm supposed to. Some days are sorer than others when it gets bumped or when I bend over. I noticed today that it is a little red around the area but no puss or fluids. Does this mean it is getting infected or is it just a healing process? If it is getting infected what do I do to get rid of the infection before it gets worse? Any help would be greatly appreciated since I am going to Mexico the end of April!! :o

The redness seems to be normal. However, if it lasts longer, or if it becomes more painful, I suggest seeing a doctor.

Okay well first of all, you can't at all touch your belly button ring. Like that's why its infected, it doesn't matter how much you clean it, if your touching it its going to get infected, and once it is belly button rings are hard to fix. Don't TOUCH IT AT ALLL. And when your cleaning it, use saylene sollution(or salt and water) and put it on a cotton ball and DAB it, don't try and get it in the cracks, the ring CANNOT MOVE one bit, just dab it and hold it for about 10 seconds.

If you want 2 touch it, you must put disinfecter on your hands just in case, mines red and got a rash, and ivce had it 4 two weeks, but I can move it around freely. I clean it with wateer boiled 2 room temp and salt water, and when I'm sleeping I put a cotton pad taped over it so it doesn't get adhesive infection; because you can't dis-infect your clothes so germs can snag onto your jewellry from your clothes
