Bruising can actually be quite common with piercings. Whether or not you bruise varies from person to person. Bruising can be caused by a broken blood vessel, or just by the sheer trauma of getting pierced. It should clear up in a few days.
If the pain feels like a ripping sensation, that might be an indicator that your barbell is not long enough to allow room for the swelling. You may want to go back to your piercer and request that he/she put a hoop in, instead of a barbell.
If there is no discharge, there shouldnt be anything to worry about right now. Keep in mind that a piercing is a wound to your body, so there is going to be some amount of swelling and/or pain. To soothe the pain, you can use Ibuprofen (as suggested above

) and you can also use a warm compress for 10 minutes twice a day. The warm compress will soothe the pain a bit and help a little with the swelling. Just keep an eye on it to make sure the situation does not worsen.
Take it easy on the sea salt soaks -- sea salts can be very bad for your piercing if overused or abused. Do not use the salts more than once a day -- other than that, clean once a day with antibacterial soap. Do not overclean, because you can cause a flare up.
Good luck!
