my navel rejected the piercing!

i got my belly button pierced sept7th and i took really good care of it i washed it 4 times a day with bactine and antiseptic and alcohal peroxide and basitrasine (i didnt use allll the products at once, i alternated) it never got infected pussed or bleeded. it did get a little crusty at times but as soon as i washed it, it went away. Over the past couple weeks ive noticed that the skin my belly button was under was vanishing. the skin kept getting smaller and smaller and i was seeing more of the bar, until finally i went to the place i got it pierced at and they told me my body rejected it so i have to wait another 2 months for it to completely heal and then i can get it repierced, only this time he said i have to get the piercing a lot deeper and i have more of a chance of it getting infected. plus my body could reject it again, he said that some people just cant get certain piercings and i could be one of them.
has anyone ever had there bellybutton reject the piercing and then got it repierced again? i dont really want to go through all that just to find out im going to reject it again.

If your body rejected a piercing once, there is a good chance that it may do it again, but if you care for it properly the chance for that happening is slightly reduced.

First of all, stop using so many chemicals on your piercing! You are hurting your piercing and yourself! All you need to use is anti-bacterial soap, twice a day for the first two weeks, then reduce to once a day. Bactine and alcohol and neosporin are not by any means good for your piercing. They are very drying and irritating.

You can try with the piercing one more time, but if it rejects again, let it be. Two rejections usually just means your body doesnt want a piercing there and it just wants to be left alone. But make sure you take good care of it!

Good luck and let me know how it goes!

nah you gotta clean it at least 3 times a day but 4 is best, and for 1 month. and i was recommended to use bactine and neosporin if it starts to have any signs of infection by a professional, i didnt use them everyday of coarse but everytime it would get a little crusty or w.e i would. yeah thanks i figured if it did reject it again then i wouldnt try re try it

It doesnt need bactine or neosporin if its just a little crusty. I call those crusts "crusties", all they are is white blood cells trying to patch the hole that is in your body. It is your body's natrual defense mechanism towards the wound. All you need to do for that is soak your bellybutton with warm water, and when the crusties are nice and soaked, remove them gently with a Q-tip. Thats it.

I have got to warn you, whether you believe me or not, that all of the different chemicals you are putting on your piercings are not good for them. If you have signs of infection, you need to see your doctor for some antibiotics. There is nothing in bactine or neosporin that can cure infection.

I wish you good luck and I hope you dont have any problems!

I have had my belly button peirced multiple times. I am one of those people who i guess just can't have it done. DON'T USE ALCOHOL! it drys it out, and irritates it alot, making it MORE prone to rejection/mirgration. To clean it use unsented white bar soap..(dove or ivory) and do it about twice a day. Also, you can buy sea salt from peircing places, or make it youself, or use saleen solution to get rid of the crusties. The sea salt can be used every day (becasue as you probably know, sea water is walys good for skin and wounds like if you have a cut on your leg the sea water helps it heal, your peircing is a wound and the salt water really helps.) And one more thing to help reduce migration and infection is make sure not to wear overly tight cloths, and dont change the barbel to soon because that moves all the blood cells that have started to heal the wound and when you change it, it's like restarting the healing process all over again

good luck!

You are absolutely right, alcohol severely dries out piercings. In fact it can dry out the piercing so bad that it is not salvagable, so you eventually have to take it out. The only thing I would warn against is the dove soap. Bar soaps tend to leave a residue behind that can potentially irritate your piercing. The Dial antibacterial liquid soap does not do this so I would recommend using that. It is up to anyone whether they use sea salt or not. Personally, I do not use it because it is very drying and does not promote healing as well as everyone thinks it does, but if you do use it, please make sure you do not over do it, because you will be doing more harm than good.

You sound like you take pretty good care of your piercings Kayla! Its a shame you cant have the bellybutton done.
