Losing Weight & Getting a Navel Piercing
I am planning on getting my bellybutton pierced. I am in the process of losing weight (alot of it on my belly.) My question is, will it look funny after I lose weight if I get it pierced now? Should I wait until I'm closer to having a leaner tummy?

I would definitely wait. That way you get the right sized jewelry and look. I treated myself once that way when I did the same thing you're doing! Good luck! :)

I also say wait. Once you get your belly button pierced and you are in the process of losing weight you will be slowed down in that process by at least two weeks wilw you wait for the piercing to heal. Also you want to make sure your tummy is as toned and you planned so then you aren't beating yourself up if it doesn't look as good as you had hoped it would when you get it done. I wish you the best of luck on your weight loss and your new piercing!

I'm in the same situation... I went a head and pierced mine though... but I have a friend that lost weight afterwards and her belly button looks good... I guess it depends on the person... make sure you tone your tummy though... make sure your stomach isn't flabby after weight loss... good luck

Personally I wouldn't do it. Getting your navel pierced number one hurts, but if you decide to let go even once on the weight lose you were doing and it is pierced it is going to be bad. Whenever you gain any kind of weight with it pierced it basically pushes it self out. My friend was like this, she had it done three times before she finally gave up. Oh and the pain of it pushing out, isn't pleasant.

Yea I think you should wait because the skin might sag after and it may pop out when your doing sit-ups and stuff

I'm losing wieght steadly. I am going to get it done (hopefully) Friday. And at the rate I'm going I'll still be losing weght afterwards.
But I'm not very "fluffy" (as my friend says), so I don't think it'll effect me too much.
One of my friends got hers when she was more "fluffy" then I am now, lost weight, and her's is doing perfectly fine.
I think as long as you tone your tummy (and clean the peircing) as you loose, then you should be good to go.

Do it, I don't know about you, but it was a great self-confidence booster for me... kind of because it was like a taboo. But it could also help motivate you to keep working out so you can show off your new piercing AND you nice tummy (:, plus, you can still work out as long as you clean it really well afterwards (:
