| The only thing that will remove it is laser removal in a doctor's office (cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist). Remember though, laser removal is not 100%, which means you might be left with a faint outline. It all really depends on the colors, the depth of the tattoo and the ink that was used. Age will also play a factor.
Cost is going to vary - I had a tattoo removed and paid $400 per session. I responded very well, it only took four treatments and there is no sign of the tattoo left. My doctor commented that most people are NOT as fortunate as I was, so keep in mind there might be a trace left in the end.
Look up "tattoo removal" and your city in google to get a list of doctors who offer the service and call to check out the prices. Most will give you a ballpark over the phone, but will probably want to see you to check the size, etc. When you see a doctor they will not be able to tell you how many sessions it will take; they will estimate, but you will pay per session, not one price up front. This is better for a few reasons - one, you might need fewer treatments than they estimate (I did), and two, you can spread the treatments and the cost out over a period of time. Treatments can occur only every four to six weeks, and you can always spread that out more if you need to get together the funds.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any other questions! |
