Eyebrow piercing

Hi all,

I have been wanting to get an eyebrow piercing for some time now, unfortunately the job that I have doesn't allow me to look like anything other than a character from a 1950's T.V. show. I have tried to find out information on any way to get the piercing and keep it open while at work without having the ring in. Because of the location they won't let me cover it with a band aid or anything. Any information you have would be very helpful, thank you!

If you can't cover it with a bandaid or something similiar...your only other option would be to have a clear retainer (a small piercing made of plastic that is clear). I have seen some employers allow a retainer to be worn. They are less noticeable than silver piercings but still noticeable (at least to me).

Even then, I think you would have to get it pierced with metal, let it heal, then you would be able to change it to a retainer for work.

You should talk to your employer and see what their policy is...when they say no piercings, they may mean literally none...and won't allow you to wear a retainer...so find all this out before you waste your money.

The piercing must be done with a surgical steel bar, which would be highly detectable to your employers. It has to stay in for 6 weeks to allow the piercing to stabilize, so within that 6 weeks your piercing is sure to be noticed. However, after the 6 weeks you are able to put in a retainer. That 6 weeks of having to have the steel one is what will get you.

Your best bet is to not get the piercing. If you love and need your job, you should not let a piercing get in the way of that. I love piercings, but they are not necessary. Having a job and making money is necessary.

Good luck!

If they want you to look like a 1950's tv show character then you will have to conform to what they want you to look like or get another job or don't get the eyebrow pierced. Grow up while you're at it as well. When you're older you probably will not want the eyebrow thing anyway. It's just a stage in your life right now. Get interested in something else to take your mind off this.
