| Getting your cartilage pierced with a hollow needle is a little bit more of a shock than when you get it done with a gun, but trust me it is better for you in the long run.
Piercing guns are not sterilized, and an unsterilized environment is definitely not how you want to start off a new piercing. They have also been known to shatter some people's cartilage, and they do have a tendency to get caught on the jewelry, and when the person piercing your ear tries to detatch the jewelry from the gun, they can tear your ear. Also, when using a piercing gun, the earring is just forced through your cartilage, while the needle takes out a little tiny piece of your ear, making room for the earring.
When pierced with a hollow needle, it is much more sterile. They use a brand new needle on you, never been used on anyone else, unlike the piercing gun. The benefits of the needle are so much better than the piercing gun, and in the long run it is a better method for piercing. |
