how long should u wait to get a belly piercing re-pierced?

i got my belly pierced over the summer and it seems like theres less and less skin there and the barbell i have in the stem looks really long and ugly like that. i have alot of skin there for the piercing but not that much. i really want to take it out and let it close so i could get it re-pierced with more skin. so how long does it take for the hole to close and how long should i wait for them to pierce it again? thnx!!

Do you still have the barbell in that you got it pierced with? They tend to be a little longer than normal jewelry. If you still have the one you got it pierced with in, try changing it. You might be a little happier with the results.

If you do decide to take it out and get it completely redone, wait about 3 or 4 months. Its best to wait for the previous hole to be completely healed, this way you dont have any unneeded complications.

no i changed it 6 weeks after i got it pierced and put a new belly ring in that i bought at the mall and i took a mirror to look at the bottom hole and it looks like its coming out a little bit like the belly ring isnt where it was pierced at. i dont know if that makes any sense but i dont know how to explain it

the piercing may not suit your skin
it may be growing out my brother had his eye brow done
and it started to grow out im thinking maybe thats whats happening here...
was the belly ring your purchased smaller than the one you had it done with?
your best bet would be to buy the smallest one possible that will fit..
it will hurt alot more and be a bit harder to do if you take it out and get it re-done because of the hard tissue that would have formed...
if your not sure go to the place that done it for you and ask them about it there sure to know whats going on
good luck with it

Theres a thing called rejection/migration
it can happen to u surface pierceing and all it is, your body doesnt feel like that belongs there and it pushes it out. if your noticeing less and less skin you should take it out because that happend to mine and i didnt take it out and now i have a red scar that will be there forever. If your still somewhat young take it out and then wait a few years and get it done again, that way you know your bodys finished growing, and if it still gets rejected then your body just isnt good with peircings...
good luck
