How long has he been gone? Have you tried a bereavement group?

Please keep in mind that not everyone believes in your particular God - this provides no comfort to those who don't.

Don't try to get over it. Let him be part of you. Talk to him, even if you don't believe in an afterlife. Do things for him, in his memory. Things he liked. Make a little shrine, a shelf, a spot on a table, with a few mementos to meditate on. Plant a tree or shrub somewhere and keep it watered and pruned and weeded. Get a dog or cat and name it after him with a little variation.

If you didn't grieve when he died, grieve now. Let it out, cry, walk, think, talk. If you are in the US too many of us don't grieve. Bodies are whisked away, funerals are hushed or too much into 'celebrating their life.' We think we have to get over it.
