My natural hair color is dark blonde.
My current hair color is dark reddish brown, and I had it dyed at a salon with semi-permanent color. Everytime I've had my hair dyed, which is only about 5 times, it has brought a reddish tone out.

What would be the best products for me to use at home to get my hair back to dark blonde without damaging it? Should I strip my hair first or just try dying it with a light blonde color every few weeks to gradually lighten it?

Ok, Well I have dark brown hair and i wanted to go to platinum blonde. What i used was swarzkopf Live platinum blonde kit. I think you should use that and then buy the colour blonde that your looking for. Your hair might be a bit damaged afterwards but just use a good conditioner (particulary treseme) and you should be perfect in no time!

Semi-permanent hair colors will not wash out completely. Some semi permanent colors may leave a permanent tint on porous or light hair. If you want go from brown to dark blonde, you will need to pre-lighten your hair with bleach (hydrogen peroxide) and then deposit the desired color. Anything other than that will result in a brassy shade. You should consider getting your hair professionally done.
