Isotrentinoin

Hey
I have been taking Amnesteem, an acne medication containing Isotrentinoin for 4 months now and I am about to start my 5th and final month. So far it has worked great. However, I am worried that my acne will return once I go off the medication next month. How does Isotrentinoin work and will my acne return when I stop taking Amnesteem.
Also, I know that this drug causes birth defects up to 1 month after finishing taking the drug. I am still young and planning on having kids. Will Isotrentinoin cause birth defects several years down the road?
