Natural Blonde dyed black - want back to blonde

hey guys,

my natural hair colour is a really light blonde and i started dying my hair when i was around 14, im now 18. I originally just started putting brown through my hair and red and purple but one day i decided to go black, ive had black hair for years and even though im used to it and i dont really mind it I feel like a change and I dont want to have black hair forever, not only when my roots grow it looks horrible BUT I'm scared that My hair will become ruined if i keep dying it so dark,

I tried dying it brown over the top to see if i could gradually lighten it but it hasnt worked and has made my hair a darker black (if that makes sense).

Ive heard all about hair strippers and products that take colour out of your hair but Im not entirely sure what to do??

any help would be appreciated greatly

Sweetie, If you want to go from black to light blonde without the brassy tones, you will need to bleach your hair to a pale yellow stage, and then apply a blonde toner in order to reduce the brassiness and make it look natural. This is known as a double process, bleaching and toning which I don't recommend doing yourself. Hair bleaching and toning should only be done by a trained hair stylist.

harmony8u disagrees: if your hair is black you usually need to double process it manic panic flash lighting is really good if you want to do it your self
squeaks77 agrees: Agreed!

Harmony8u, you have the right to agree or disagree with my advice. However, my advice was accurate and solid, and I stand by it.
