    Hard water solution?
I live in the country, and our water is very hard. Whenever I get my hair dyed, it always fades because of our water. Is there any shampoos, conditioners, or product I can use that will make my hair color last longer and not be damaged from the water? I've heard of little packets of stuff you put in your shampoo that takes out the minerals in the water, but I don't know what it's called or where to get it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The term “hard” refers to the concentration of calcium and magnesium ions present in the water. When cleansing agents combine with the calcium and magnesium ions, it forms a film or buildup. If hard water leaves a film on your hair, try using an anti-residue shampoo or a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove the buildup. If you want to keep your hair color from fading, get a shampoo and conditioner designed for colored hair, such as Pantene Color Revival Shampoo/Conditioner for Color Treated Hair. You will find products for color treated hair at a drug store or pharmacy in the hair care aisle.
