| | | Hair falling out? Hey.
So for the longest time, when every I shower, brush my hair or even stroke my fingers through it, strands of hair always come out....and when I show.brush my hair thats when the most strands fall out...
It worries me because I dotn want to be bald by the time I'm 20
I really dont know why my hair is falling out like this... Every now and then I put mouse in it to curl it but most times I blow dry and flat iron it.
I wash my hair Once every 2 to 3 days.
I use Sun Silk shampoo.
My diet isnt the greatest, and I am on and off with my vitimans.
Is this normal? I know we lsoe hair eveyr day but I think I'm losing too much...
Is there something I can do? Is there somethign wrong with me?
Could it have anything to do with what I eat? Or how often I cut my hair? | | | | | | |

Pay to call J_9 for advice ($.75/min) | It is normal to lose up to 180 strands of hair a day. We shed just like our pets do, LOL. It's old hair making room for new hair to grow in (in simple terms). |

| It depends, if there are only a few strands it is normal, however, it can be the sign of an underlying physical illness if there is a lot of hair falling out. If its enough to be really noticeable, then it is worth going to your doctor. Considering you mention a poor diet, it is well worth asking if you need a test for Anemia - which is an easy blood test for lack of iron. |

| i went through the same thing my hair was thinning and falling out and i was like ... dude im going to be bald by my 21st birthday.
stress can really affect your hair. so can too much product, poor diet, and lack of water.
it can also be due to medical reason like lack of iron, or a thyroid issue. you would have to call your doctor for some simple blood work to find out if it is medically related.
if things are really bad consider seeing a dermatologist. there are several optoins to help like steroid shampoos, supplements,etc... that really help!
if things aren't too bad but you want it to thicken up try this
things to help are
- change shampoos every 2-3 months. this helps clean hair from build up from the hair products and even your last shampoo that you used.
-prenatal vitamins boost hair growth & nail growth
- make sure you condition hair, dry hair will snap easier than quenched hair
-scalp massages promote blood flow which in turn causes hair growth!
and no worries you arent the only girl with this issue, there are lots of women who deal with hair loss just like men! |

Don't take iron pills BEFORE getting a blood test for anemia, since it is highly dangerous to take too much iron... you can take a normal amount of vitamins supplements with B vitamins, they can help some cases of hair loss without doing any harm. If you suspect iron based anemia, having an orange juice during a meal will help you digest iron without any risk. |
