Gettin rid blemises?

I've heard that using lemon juice and cucumber will help fade my blemishes. How long do I leave it on my face and how long will it take for them to fade? Do I rub it in and leave it on over night and, how often should I do this? Please help!!!

Lemon juice is a natural exfoliant, though I would not suggest using it on blemishes. The reason being is that lemon juice is extremely acidic, and if any of your blemishes are open or scratched, it will sting immensly. Cucumbers are good for your skin overall, although they work best for bringing down puffy eyes (I use them if I've been crying). If you have small, irritated red pimples, I would suggest toothpaste, if you're in a fix. Applying a thinlayer of toothpaste overnight will bring down the redness.
However, if you are trying to get rid of blemishes, there are a few products and techniques I can recommend. I would definitely recommend Biore Pore Strips and Deep Cleansing Face Mask. If your skin is oily, try to find some rice paper (Burtsbees offers them). Rice paper picks up excess oil from your skin. Also, don't wear concealer or foundation. I know you're probably thinking "Well, I need to cover up my blemishes!" but, just give it a few days. Oftentimes, makeup will only further irritate your skin. I've found that if I have a pimple, the best thing is to leave it alone...if I cover it up with makeup, it ends up getting red and blotchy.
Also, try to wash your face a few times a day. If you are in school, get a small purse size bottle and fill it with face cream (I would suggest either Olay or Shiseido, depending on your pocketbook). Then, after lunch, or during the day at work, take a few minutes to wash your face and apply a small amount of lotion. This will keep your skin fresh and clean, which will help keep your pores from clogging up. Also, as soon as you get home, wash your face. Make it a routine to clean your face after you get home, and then once again before you go to bed, and always be sure to apply lotion, if your skin is dry, it will only irritate your blemishes more.
Another helpful hint is to detox your body. You can do this a number of ways, my favourite is taking L-Glutathione, which is a capsule that cleans out your liver and contains antioxidants to boost your immune system. A lot of times, your skin breaks out because your liver (and, consequently, the rest of your body) is so full of impurities, that it effects your skin (after all, many impurities are filtered out through out skin when we sweat).

Well, best of luck, and, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a message
