    Chocolate brown? I think not...
My hair is naturally a dark brown color, but in the sun it was a really dark auburn. In fact, over the summer, the sun lightened my hair causing reddish blonde highlights - but then as my hair grew more, and wasn't lightened by the sun since summer was over - people thought I had died my hair. So, long story short, to make my hair one even natural color - I bought a dye that was supposed to come out chocolate brown and then I could put in mahogany highlights. I dyed the hair first, to see if I wanted to put the highlights in, and now my hair is an auburn/ dark burgundy color. I might would like it if my eyebrows weren't such a dark contrasting color. I've read up on some ways of stripping the color, but it seems like using the clarifying shampoo or dawn dish detergent is just going to lighten the color. Is that what its going to do? If so, my hair will probably just turn red, and I really don't want that. I want to know if there is a way to just strip the dye out, leaving my natural color behind, that's not going to cause drastic damage to my hair. Please help! I just want to be natural again

You can use a hair color remover to strip the unwanted shade. Keep in mind that hair color removal products do not discriminate between artificial and natural hair color. It can make your hair brassy and you will need to re-color your hair.
